Decision by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, in his capacity as Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, has issued a decision to establish a specialized public prosecution office under the name “Abu Dhabi Labor Prosecution”. This office will undertake the tasks of investigation and prosecution in cases related to workers and domestic labor.

This decision comes within the framework of the Judicial Department’s efforts to develop and expand the scope of specialized prosecution offices, given their vital role in ensuring the speed and efficiency of judicial procedures and in achieving justice in a precise and integrated manner across key sectors, while taking into account the particularities of each field. This contributes to strengthening the judicial system in the Emirate and safeguarding the rights of all parties in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and justice.

According to the decision, the jurisdiction of the Abu Dhabi Labor Prosecution includes crimes stipulated in Federal Decree-Law No. (33) of 2021 regarding the Regulation of Labor Relations, and Federal Decree-Law No. (9) of 2022 concerning Domestic Workers, within the geographical scope of the Abu Dhabi region.

The Abu Dhabi Labor Prosecution will consist of a Public Prosecutor with the rank of at least Chief Prosecutor, supported by a sufficient number of prosecutors and specialized staff.
