With the participation of the United Arab Emirates, the International Security Alliance successfully carried out a joint counter-narcotics operation targeting cross-border organized crime networks. The seized drugs were valued at approximately USD 2.9 billion. The operation was conducted in cooperation with 25 countries and a number of international policing organizations.

This marks the Alliance’s second such operation, conducted by land, sea, and air, and it resulted in the seizure of more than 822 tons of various types of drugs, in addition to the arrest of 12,564 suspects worldwide.

The two-month operation involved several Alliance member states, including the UAE, Bahrain, Spain, Morocco, France, the Netherlands, Slovakia, and Italy. It also included Latin American countries through the Americas Police Community (AMERIPOL), such as Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama, Venezuela, and Peru. Furthermore, Croatia and Belgium participated through the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol), along with the Maldives, Jordan, and Nepal.

This intensive coordination led to the dismantling of new criminal networks and enhanced the exchange of information and expertise regarding smuggling methods. It also unified the efforts of the Alliance and its partners, strengthened field coordination, and developed proactive mechanisms to counter the illicit cross-border drug trade.

It is noteworthy that the International Security Alliance (ISA) was established in 2017 at the initiative of the UAE and France, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and building partnerships to address global security challenges, foremost among them the fight against organized crime. The Alliance relies on a combination of strategic coordination and field operations to deliver tangible results in confronting criminal challenges. It also strengthens the UAE’s role as an influential force in shaping the international security agenda and enhances its position through extensive regional and global partnerships.
